At Bucketworks we are creating new connections between people by engaging them in play that brings their shared values to life.

Our vision for Jewish Teen Day of the Arts was to bring the values of Jewish teens and their reflections on Judaism to life through performance and play. We call these experiences value gatherings.

The first exercise, called Flow, develops awareness of different kinds of energy—the kind for getting things done, and the the kind for discovering what to do. We then asked participants to create their You Costume, a wearable creation that answers these questions: What is your name? What do you love about yourself?

Through these activities, the youth became familiar with the environment and the materials present. We then led them through the core value gathering experience: What would you ask Judaism if you could interview it? You can see the questions they came up with! The participants then broke into four small groups and created performances and objects that brought their answers to life.

Finally, we closed the session by asking everyone what they learned.

It was an honor and a pleasure to share Jewish Teen Day of the Arts with the group!
