2. Group Two
2.1 What defines judaism?
- jacob wrestled with an angel
- the angel is pop culture
- exuberance, lonliness, and solitude
2.2 What role does god play in judaism?
- Mysticism
- sometimes god tries to hide himself from the world
- I hide myself to represent the way that god hides himself in the world. Sometimes god reveals himself in the world, he is our superhero,
- because he is our father and our mother we are connected between all of us
3. Group three
3.1 Where do we think judaism will be in 100 years?
3.2 First dream
- In the year 2106
- Judaism is in the pits of despair
- Jewish people are not prosperous
- They’re begging for food
3.3 Second dream
- There are many jewish doctors and lawyers
- There are many successes, and we are dancing!
4. Group 4
Group 4 stages a debate between Jews and non-Jews, and Jews who are strong in their support of their faith and those who are less strong.
4.1 How do we view ourselves vs. how do others view us?
- I have to start off with saying that Judaism is really strong in the world, and when I go to temple, and everyone is praying and singing, and everyone has fun!
- No it isn’t, it’s totally boring, because you have to sit there for a half-hour.
- I went to a bar mitzvah once.
- You have to sit there and listen to them saying bar bar bar
- But there are successful jews! Lawyers Doctors Etc.
- Our language is strong!
- All we do is celebrate hanukah and get the presents!
